Gidhaur
Gidhaur Gidhaur is a small but ancient town in the Jamui District of Bihar. In the early-modern period, it was the centre of the Gidhaur chieftaincy. In the Ain-i-Akbari, it is mentioned as a mahal of the Sarkar of Bihar. Here is History of this town Raja Veer Vikram Shah who belong to Chandel Rajput Dynasty founded this princely state in 1266 AD, after defeating the local Dusadh King Nagoria, from here he started to expand his kingdom. He was the Younger brother of Raja of Baroli. The Chandel Rajput rulers ruled over Gidhaur for more than six centuries.
